Dog.Life: a documentary about man's best friend.
Three pedigree breeders and one event: selection of the Dog of the Century. The favorites: Ferdi Dickmann, an undeniable gentleman whose grace and charm seems to have been passed on to his champion pug, Willi. Heidi Winckelman, the countess of Schwerin, has already attained her goal, the "crown of breeding" --- the perfect dog --- and has thereby secured her immortality among dog-breeders. Annegret and Hans-Jürgen Koch have built an entire philosophy of life around their African Basenjis. Do health and domestic bliss really go hand-in-hand with the love of dogs? The anticipation, the rising blood-pressure, the emotion of the show, and the tension that builds up to the moment of victory --- every dog-handler has his or her way of dealing with it all. But for each it is only one question that counts in the end: who will be best in show?
Dog.Life follows a passion to its very source and opens a glimpse into the life of breeders who are ready to drive their mobile homes 20,000 km through Europe purely out of love of their dogs.
